Millésime 2008 is a blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay from the Grand Cru villages of Verzy & Verzenay. The nose conjures up aromas of brioche and plums whilst the Chardonnay gives a characteristic hint of honey. In the mouth, there is a whole array of fruit ~ pears, apricots, pineapple ~ and then a long and powerful finish with the Pinot Noir dominating. This Champagne pairs beautifully with poultry & fish.
At Champagne Henriet-Bazin, the history begins perhaps 50 million years ago, when shellfish decided to settle in the warm sea that once blanketed the Montagne de Reims region. Over the eons, nature and time transformed shells into the profoundly deep layers of chalk and clay that bear their vines. Wind, water and ice carved slopes and created unique microclimates. For five generations, the family has worked the soil, tended vines and crafted acclaimed Champagnes. Today, the father-daughter team of Daniel Henriet and Marie-Noëlle Henriet-Rainon work with unwavering commitment to create Cuvées that express the uniquely complex and delightful terroir of their Grand Cru vineyards in Verzenay & Verzy.
