This is as great a Blanc de Blancs as you can ever drink short of a fully mature masterpiece. This would be a show-stopping gift.
It was created "the old way", vinified in oak and on the lees a long time to create complex secondary flavors. It is a blend of '00/'01.
The palate is lush on entry but visibly firms up, and it's that dialogue between richness and structure that confers the paradox that's the prerequisite for great wine. It's so huge and vinous it shouldn't be served ice-cold, nor in too narrow a glass.
